WELCOME! SmartFaith.net provides resources to assist in the exploration and defense of the Christian faith. A continually expanding range of podcasts, documents and PowerPoint presentations are available on many different topics.

Faith and reason are no more contradictory than heat and light. Belief in God and a literal interpretation of the Bible have nothing to fear from rational, evidence-based investigation. As Albert Einstein said, “The more I study science, the more I believe in God”. Max Born, the German physicist, who won the Nobel Prize for Science in 1954, said; "Those who say that the study of science must make a person an atheist must be rather silly people."

The Christian faith is overwhelmingly supported by the physical and philosophical sciences. Recent developments in cosmology, genetics, paleontology, physics and bio-molecular science have resulted in a significant shift within the scientific community towards belief in a theistic first cause for the origin of the universe. Although this paradigm shift is not always reflected in popular media, the concept of intelligent design is gaining significant momentum within academic circles.

Dr Robert Jastrow, astronomer, astrophysicist and founder of NASA’s Goddard Institute of Space Studies, states, “Astronomers now find that they have painted themselves into a corner because they have proven, by their own methods, that the world began abruptly in an act of creation to which you can trace the seeds of every star, every planet, every living thing in this cosmos and on the earth. And they have found that all this happened as a product of forces they cannot hope to discover…. That there are what I or anyone would call supernatural forces at work is now, I think, a scientifically proven fact.”

The first aim of SmartFaith.net is to provide resources to assist Christians in developing a faith that is biblically faithful and intellectually robust. Resources include books, podcasts, theological papers, PowerPoint presentations, Bible studies and training courses. Some of these resources were published in the early 1990's by Churches of Christ, NSW, Department of Church Development and Education, and are still used by churches throughout Australia. With the exception of the books offered on my shop page, all other resources are made available free of charge in the hope that they may assist in the extension of God's Kingdom.

The second aim of SmartFaith.net is to challenge the presuppositions and arguments made by sceptics. Many of the resources on this website provide responses to the common questions and objections raised against Christianity, and propose strong, evidence-based arguments for the existence of God and the truth of the Gospel. In particular my book, "Finding God When He Seems To Be Hiding", on my shop page, provides clear, rational answers to the 12 most common questions and objections that are raised against Christianity.
